fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum)
- Bunches of fenugreek leaves are now widely available in the UK.
- Look out for bunches of methi leaves too, particularly in the Asian shops, as it's the same thing.
- Chop up the leaves and add to any salad. It's not particularly strong tasting but it is delicious.
- When dried, the leaves have a more bitter taste and are used as a seasoning.
- The seeds are used as a spice and are a bit like cumin.
